About Us

About Two-Thirds

Two-thirds of our world is ocean. The communities living along its edges have built centuries of knowledge around it, how to read the weather, manage the catch, and sustain the coastline. We have an 8-year relationship with the community, working alongside them, and this is an extension of what we observed that the shores needed. At Two-Thirds, we work across education, livelihoods, environment, and health in partnership with these communities. We do not bring outside solutions; we start with what they already know and build from there.

Our Approach

Leveraging simultaneous environmental & community benefits

Two-Thirds aims to secure local ecosystems and build community-wellbeing through integrated, grassroots-led models. We combine traditional marine wisdom with modern research to address environmental and livelihood concerns—working hand-in-hand with coastal panchayats, fishing families, and local youth to co-design active resilience.

Impact Stories

Real testimonials of transformation and empowerment along the shores of Perumathura.

Before the evening study center started, my daughter struggled with reading. Now she is the first in her class, and she wants to become a teacher herself.

When our boat engine failed 5 miles out, the first-aid training and communication protocols we learned saved our lives. We knew exactly who to call.

We never had our own savings. Today, through our value-addition center, 25 of us are financially independent and managing our own dry-fish brand.
